Traditional British Food

In Britain, there is a lot of traditional food. I have described a few dishes below.

-Porridge

It’s made by boiling ground, crushed, or chopped oats in water, milk, or both.

It’s eaten for breakfast. It can be eaten plain, or with honey or fruit.

-The Full English Breakfast

The full English breakfast consists of sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, eggs, and bread.

It is often eaten at the weekend because people have more time to prepare it.

-Scones

They are made of wheat with baking powder and a kind of cake or bread. It’s commonly eaten with clotted cream and jam.

-Trifle

It’s quite a famous English dessert made from custard, fruit, whipped cream, sponge cake and jelly. It’s often served at Christmas time.

-Fish&Chips

Battered fish and deep-fried chips. It’s quite common food in Britain. You can find lots of restaurant which serve fish and chips in Britain as many people expect.

-Crumpets

They are griddle cakes and made of flour and yeast. They are delicious served with jam or just butter.

-Roast Dinners

Usually, beef, pork, chicken, or turkey are eaten as a part of a roast dinner. Beef can be served with horseradish sauce. Pork can be served with apple sauce.

-Yorkshire Puddings

They made of flour, eggs and milk. They are usually served with roast beef, vegetables and gravy – especially at the weekend.

-Black Pudding

These days, Britain is a multi cultural society. This means that you can eat many kinds of food in Britain. In Manchester and most towns and cities, you can find food you’ve never had before.
